June 5th, 2022 by

The 2021 BMW 8 Series is the pinnacle of the coupe world. Whether it’s a statement you’re looking for or you simply want to treat yourself to a first-class experience, the three 8 Series styles are sure to give you what you’re looking for.

COUPE

The flagship model for the 8 Series offers an exciting and luxurious experience that sets it apart from other vehicles on the road. The 2021 840i offers a standard 335 horsepower from its intelligently designed inline six-cylinder engine. The 8 Series coupe is also available with an all-wheel-drive system if you want a boost in security on slick roads. The high-performance variation of the 8 Series coupe adds performance features such as the M Sport differential, adaptive suspension system, and integral active steering system. However, this high-performance version won’t be available in the United States for the 2021 model year.

GRAN COUPE

The 2021 8 Series Gran Coupe is a larger version of the coupe that gives you the same level of standard power and luxury with more space to enjoy. The Gran Coupe is a four-door coupe that allows seating for up to five passengers rather than the regular coupe’s maximum four. The Gran Coupe is also available with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

If you’re looking for a more thrilling experience from your Gran Coupe, consider choosing the M850i model. The M series are high-performance variations of your favorite BMW models that equip your vehicle with even more gear to provide you with an exhilarating performance. The M850i xDrive Gran Coupe offers a powerful 4.4-liter turbocharged V-8 engine that delivers 523 horsepower. This model is also outfitted with a sport exhaust system, launch control, a brake energy regeneration system, and more performance-enhancing features to excite your drives.

CONVERTIBLE

The convertible version of the 840i lets you enjoy the performance and luxury of the 8 Series with some extra sunshine and air. The convertible’s soft top retracts down in only 15 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph. There’s a little less space inside the convertible model, but not enough to be very noticeable. Generally, there’s also a high-performance M8 convertible option, but the 2021 model year won’t offer it in the United States. As with the standard coupe style, the convertible is available with the xDrive system to help you maintain your grip on the road.

Take a test drive of your favorite BMW Series 8 model at Kelly BMW in Columbus, Ohio. In a world where it seems everyone opts for the largest-in-class vehicles, it’s a good idea to remind ourselves why we fell in love with the coupe style in the first place.
