One of the most exciting vehicles to come out of the BMW team’s imagination is about to meet the pavement in the 2021 model year. The 2021 i4 electric coupe is looking to upend the way we think about luxury cars. Not all the information about the 2021 BMW i4 has been released at the time of this writing, but here is what we know so far.

ELECTRIC POWER

The BMW i4 is an all-electric and all-new four-door coupe that will give sporty luxury car drivers a fantastic new option in the 2021 model year. The coupe will be outfitted with an electric motor that delivers a thrilling 530 horsepower as well as an 80.0-kWh battery that will give the i4 an impressive driving range.

This electric coupe is a part of BMW’s push to release 25 new electric vehicles by the 2023 model year. The i4 is slated to be able to achieve an 80% charge in 35 minutes using a 150-kW DC fast charger, making it easy to stay charged when you’re on the go. It’s possible that BMW will offer the i4in more than one range and power level, but that has not been confirmed at this time.

EXTERIOR STYLE

The new i4 is a four-door coupe that looks unlike anything else on the road. Its vertically divided black kidney grille sits between sharp-angled headlamps and a body chiseled front fascia and hood. The i4 has a low to the ground style that stays true to the coupe class’ heritage. The contoured lines that stretch back along the i4’s hood and sides give it an elegantly aerodynamic appeal. At night, the i4 has a unique presence with illuminated badging and elongated taillights. The i4 looks to be a surprising yet logical step into the next phase of luxury-minded coupes.

INTERIOR EXCELLENCE

If BMW’s concept photos of the i4 are realized in the production line, you can expect to see one of the most first-class and unique cabins you’ve ever seen. The passenger space appears amazingly modern, complete with glass crystal controls, minimalist design, and a digital driver information screen that blends seamlessly into the central infotainment screen.

The full-length panoramic glass roof gives the i4 an open-air concept that assists in removing the separation between you in your car and the world around you. Complete with a soundscape designed by world-famous composer Hans Zimmer, the ambiance the 2021 BMW i4 will create will be unparalleled.

WHEN CAN I DRIVE IT?

The 2021 BMW i4 is slated to start production in Munich, Germany, at the start of 2021. It will first be offered to the European market before it arrives in United States dealerships. Whether it will be for sale in the United State in the 2021 model year or the 2022 year is not yet known.
